报告摘要：

During the last two decades, profound technological changes have occurred around us, supported by disruptive advances both on the software and hardware sides. Additionally, we have witnessed a cross-fertilization of concepts and an amalgamation of information, communication, and control technology-driven approaches. This has led to what is termed as digital transformation, i.e., the integration of digital technology into all areas of business, fundamentally changing how companies operate and deliver value to customers. The most recent development is integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital transformation as the primary enabler and the facilitator. It is expected that the applications of AI will truly transform our world and impact all facets of society, economy, living, working, healthcare and technology.

The study of artificial intelligence (AI) has been a continuous endeavor of scientists and engineers for over 70 years. The simple contention is that human-created machines can do more than just labor-intensive work; they can develop human-like intelligence. In this presentation, in addition to the technical aspects of AI technology leading to the three golden ages and the winters in between, thoughts and insights are also presented regarding the symbiotic relationship of AI and humans. Agentic AI is discussed in this respect. The talk concludes pondering whether an end is reched due to the question of sustainability.

报告人简介：

Okyay Kaynak毕业于英国伯明翰大学电子电气工程专业，分别于1969年和1972年获得一等荣誉学士学位和博士学位。1972年到1979年，他先后在该行业有过多份任职，包括在沙特阿拉伯担任项目工程师3.5年。1979年起进入土耳其伊斯坦布尔的海峡大学，现为荣誉教授。他曾在沙特阿拉伯、日本、德国、美国、新加坡和中国的多家机构担任长期（近一年或一年以上）客座教授/学者。

Dr. Kaynak目前的研究兴趣集中在智能系统的广泛领域。累计撰写了三本书，编辑了五本书，在各种刊物及会议上发表或合作发表了450多篇论文。

Dr. Kaynak是IEEE的终身会士。他曾在多家学术期刊的编辑或顾问委员会任职。2005-2006年担任IEEE Trans. on Industrial Informatics的主编，2014-2016年担任IEEE/ASME Trans. on Mechatronics的主编，2009-2012年担任IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics的联合主编。目前担任IEEE新期刊Trans. on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems以及Springer期刊Discover Artificial Intelligence的创始主编。

Dr. Kaynak活跃于国际组织，曾在IEEE的多个委员会任职，并在2002-2003年担任IEEE工业电子学会主席。他曾获得IEEE第三届千禧年奖章，IEEE/IES Anthony J. Hornfeck服务奖，IEEE/IES Dr.-Ing. Eugene Mittelman成就奖，中国友谊奖（2016），洪堡研究奖（2016），匈牙利奥布达大学荣誉博士（2020）和土耳其科学院学院奖（2020）。同时，他还是土耳其科学院院士。最近，他被评为亚太人工智能协会会士（2023），国际人工智能产业联盟工业学院会士（2024）和亚洲控制协会会士（2024）。
