报告摘要:

Proteins in nature exhibit a remarkable ability to undergo conformational changes in response to varying environmental conditions, allowing them to perform diverse biological functions. Despite this natural versatility, the de novo design of protein conformational switches that can precisely respond to specific environmental stimuli remains an elusive goal in the field of protein engineering. In this presentation, I will discuss our research efforts aimed at designing novel proteins capable of switching their conformational states in response to external cues such as light and metal ions. Our approach integrates cutting-edge computational techniques with experimental validation, enabling us to create proteins that not only mimic natural systems but also offer unprecedented control over their dynamic behaviors. These de novo designed proteins represent a significant leap forward in protein design, transitioning the focus from static nanostructures to dynamic and chemically responsive systems. This advancement has profound implications for the development of conformational switches, protein nanomachines, and responsive biomaterials..

 报告人简介

  曹龙兴,山东巨野县人。2012年毕业于山东大学生命科学学院,获学士学位。2012-2017年在中国科学院生物化学与细胞生物学研究所攻读博士学位,从事利用结构生物学手段对细胞表面受体进行结构和功能的研究。2017-2021年在华盛顿大学蛋白质设计研究所进行博士后研究,致力于蛋白质设计方法的开发与应用。曹龙兴博士于20218月全职加入西湖大学生命科学学院,担任研究员、助理教授(独立PI)一职,继续从事蛋白质设计领域的相关研究。
